Tell us a little about yourself and what is your role at Acertara?

I live outside of Loveland in the foothills beneath Carter Lake. My wife (Jess) and I have 3 daughters: Sydney (13), Kinsley (4), and Kurtlyn (2). We also raise goats and chickens and have two dogs (Bailey, Lab mix) and Haley (Colorado Mtn Dog).  I am the HR and Recruiting Director here at Acertara, so I wear several hats depending on need. One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to be the first point of contact with new employees.  I am in a unique position of getting to know everyone that comes onboard.

What do you like most about Acertara?

The culture, community, and commitment to excellence.

What do you find most challenging at Acertara?

My goal is to help everyone perform to the best of their ability and sometimes that requires a tough conversation. That can be hard when you have great relationships with co-workers, but it is a necessary part of my job.

If you could switch roles with anyone else at Acertara, whose role would you want? Why?

I was an engineering major for 3 semesters in college and really enjoyed mechanical and physics classes I took. I think any of the work that our engineering team does would be really interesting.

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work? I am a bit of a craftsman. I have remodeled several homes and do wood and metal work.  My family is very outdoorsy; we have a wake boat and camper that we try to use every weekend we can.

Where would you like to travel to?

I would like to go to Europe, ride a sport bike on the autobahn, drive a supercar on the Nürburgring, and go to the Isle of Mann TT superbike race.

If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?

A sailboat, a chart, a compass.
