Employee Spotlight: Ryan McDowell
My name is Ryan McDowell and I am the Manufacturing Technician for Acertara. I complete all product builds and testing. I also work in the engineering group and help with R&D for new product development and redesign for existing products.
What do you like most about Acertara?
I love the atmosphere and the people I work with. Acertara feels like family, and I am very comfortable coming to work every day.
If you could switch roles with anyone else at Acertara, whose role would you want? Why?
Someone in programming. Rob, Chad, and Kevin do something that I have wanted to do every day. I have always wanted to be a programmer from the age of 9 or 10. I wrote my first program on a Commodore 64 in 1984!
Where would you like to travel to?
I would love to go to Egypt to see the tombs and pyramids. It has been one of the few places in the world that I have never traveled to, and it is also a place that my wife would love to visit.
If you could drink one beer for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Tommyknockers Blood Orange IPA. It is one of the best IPA’s I have ever tasted.
Top three life highlights?
First would be getting married to my wife Krystal. We met late in life, and I never thought that I would get married. I was lucky enough for her to say yes and marry me.
Second would be the birth of my first son Jackson. I never thought I would be married and have a child and then I was blessed with both.
Third would be the birth of my second son Jameson. As before, I never thought that I would be married and have a child let alone two children.
