Employee Spotlight: Kate Lock
Hello! My name is Kate Lock and I am from Sterling, Colorado. I have been at Acertara for a little over 2 years and have recently started working in purchasing and inventory. My job entails sourcing and purchasing parts for the company, working with engineering and manufacturing to pull materials for product and device builds, communicating with vendors, managing purchasing and receiving activities, and keeping the inventory room organized and ready for use! I provide customer service for Acertara’s OEM clients.
What would people never guess you do in your role?
I have been given the unique opportunity to work in almost every department here! Over the last two years I have filled in/helped at reception, in customer service, shipping and receiving, Probe Lab inspection, accounting, etc… This has been a blessing as I have been able to learn so much about the company and my coworkers!
What do you like most about Acertara?
The people here truly feel like a family. The attitude from day one has been that we are a team and if you need help, someone is in your corner! I have built great friendships, been able to participate in different community service opportunities, and I’ve grown interpersonally during my time here!
What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
I am an avid reader. I love hiking, strength training, and cooking/baking. I look for any excuse to go to a coffee shop or bookstore!
What is your favorite movie and/or book?
The ‘Hiding Place’ by Corrie Ten Boom. Read it and then come talk to me about it!
