Employee Spotlight: Jay Puckett

Tell us a little about yourself and what is your role at Acertara?

I was born in Florida and raised in Oklahoma. I moved to Los Angeles after high school to pursue a career in Aerial Cinematography. I gained most of my skillset during this time working for several aerial cinema teams. Eventually I joined a small company called CTRL.ME Robotics, where we built multi-rotors designed to carry professional camera packages for the film industry. I’ve lived here in Longmont for about a year now and am really starting to love Colorado. I have a border collie named Ariel who is the center of my world. I love to make music and go hiking in the mountains in my free time. I’m a manufacturing technician here at Acertara, and I really enjoy all the different projects I get to work on in this role.

What do you like most about Acertara?

I love the work culture here; it feels very welcoming, and overall, just a comfortable environment to work in.

If you could switch roles with anyone else at Acertara, whose role would you want? Why?

Probably Lee, or John because I’ve always thought electrical design is fascinating.

What is your favorite movie and/or book?

Locke and Key by Joe Hill (the book, not the show)

If you could drink one beer for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Loveland Aleworks – Peanut Butter and Jelly Sour Ale

If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?

A power source, a computer, and air conditioning.
