Why Are There So Many Songs About Rainbows?

My kids grew up with the Muppets and loved to sing all the songs they performed, including the Rainbow Connection soloed by Kermit: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jS5fTzMP_mg).
I always appreciated the sentiment behind the question – why are there so many songs about rainbows?
In the book of Genesis, God says this after the flood: “The rainbow that I have put in the sky will be my sign to you and to every living creature on earth. It will remind you that I will keep this promise forever.” I was reminded of this Bible verse a week ago when I captured on my cell phone a picture of the most vivid rainbow I have ever seen; actually, a double rainbow. I was, if only for a moment, enraptured by the pure beauty and joy it made me feel. I thought to myself that in spite of the depth and breadth of all the tragedies caused by the COVID-19 virus that I remain encouraged by the knowledge that no matter how intense the storm the peacefulness of the rainbow would follow. And this gorgeous double rainbow was a way for me to visualize God saying, “Hey, relax, I got this”. The comeback adventure for the United States from the COVID virus is about to begin; buckle up – it’s going to be an amazing ride!! Promises made, promises kept, and yes even more songs about rainbows.
Until Next Month – Cheers – and support your local restaurants!!!
