Employee Spotlight: Russell
Tell us a little about yourself and your role at Acertara?
I was born and raised in Texas, and I recently moved to Colorado seeking better weather and lower humidity to enjoy the outdoors. In my role as a Manufacturing Technician at Acertara, I build and test equipment to ensure ultrasonic probes are working properly. I also assist engineering with R&D on cutting-edge ultrasonic technology.
What do you like most about Acertara?
The people and the location. Everyone is kind and a pleasure to work with. The location allows me to enjoy riding my bicycle to and from work.
If you could switch roles with anyone else at Acertara, whose role would you want? Why?
Dan, our VP of Operations. Being in a position that can get involved with all aspects of the company, looking at the big picture while also focusing down on the little details to make improvements and seek new opportunities — that would be an exciting role. And the title sounds cool.
What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
I enjoy going hiking and currently researching gold panning/sluicing to add to my hiking routine. I also like to ride my electric unicycle, and I’m an aspiring helicopter pilot.
What is the one thing you couldn’t live without?
Sugar. It’s essential to me, like water and oxygen.
Where would you like to travel to?
Outer space. I hope that space tourism makes enough progress in my lifetime so that I can book a tour in space.
