Employee Spotlight: Jesse
I’m the Mechanical Design Engineer here at Acertara. I have my hands in a number of departments, but mainly the Probe Lab, Manufacturing, and R&D. My main duties revolve around creating tools and procedures to maintain the probe labs efficiency, designing systems of operation to help manufacturing do more, and bringing to life new products for the company.
What do you like most about Acertara?
I like the mission here at Acertara, which revolves around keeping good medical equipment in the hands of medical professionals that can make a difference. At the end of the day, it’s fulfilling to know a tool I’ve designed for the probe lab has helped in repairing a probe or a product that I’ve helped to make is truly making a difference in the real world – and maybe saving lives.
If you could switch roles with anyone else at Acertara, whose role would you want? Why?
I am really interested in what Dan, our VP of Operations, does for the company in terms of building the business and analyzing ways to improve – we’re already seeing the great impact! I’ve always had a passion for building and making a difference Engineering-wise, but analyzing opportunities and perfecting operations is something I’d love to get into more in the future.
What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
I’m big into hiking, playing guitar, traveling, and working out.
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?
I’d like to see Danny Devito play me in a movie, he never misses.
Top three life highlights?
Meeting my wife, Hope. She’s an angel and together we’ve had a ton of life-fulfilling opportunities seeing the country and building a life together.
Building our cabin-on-wheels, the bus we called Turtle. I quit my job late 2021 and spent a blistering Washington winter building something we could travel the country in and live off-grid.
Climbing my first 14er this past summer.
