With President Trump returning to the white house, a great deal of change in the Healthcare Market should be expected. It is oft said that “strategy follows the person” — and in this case, Donald J. Trump.
Look no further than at his first term — and the policies that he produced — to gain insight into what the policies will be for his second term. For example, as a successful businessman, he understands the cost and bad outcomes associated with inefficiencies. In his first term, he had a standing order: For each new “rule” or “regulation” introduced by any agency, two old rules/regulations would be required to be removed from the books. This had a substantive impact across all government agencies, including the FDA, in instituting more regulations.
In this term, President Trump has introduced DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) to address the gross inefficiencies of spending on programs that are utterly worthless or not held accountable to taxpayers. For example, I was floored when I learned that the vast majority of government workers (> 85%) were still “working” from home, leaving tens of thousands of square feet of expensive DC office space empty, even though the taxpayers were still footing the bill for the leases!
As a businessman working in a small company, I am elated that President Trump is back in office. Under Biden, small businesses were vastly overregulated and taxed. Soon, small businesses will once again be spending their earnings on innovation through R&D, bringing novel and essential medical devices to the market, as well as creating exciting new high-paying job opportunities for thousands of workers across the U.S., rather than paying for empty office space in DC.
Until Next Month,
